Man Accused Of Drugging Teenager
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -
A South Florida police officer is accused of drugging and sexually abusing a teenager for a couple of years.
Ronald Baker, a Seminole Police Department officer, was charged with sexual battery to a minor.
Police said a family member caught him performing a lewd act on the minor on Thursday in Sunrise.
According to a police report, Baker, 46, had sexually abused the minor for two years. Baker allegedly gave the victim sleeping pills, according to the police report.
The Seminole Police Department said Baker was terminated because of the arrest.
He had been on the force for the last two years.
Baker turned himself in after a warrant was issued for his arrest, NBC 6’s Ian Wood reported.
Baker is being held on a bond of $228,000.
