Clinton for VP push folds, as 'dream ticket' hopes fade

A message from co-founders Adam Parkhomenko and Sam Arora

Thank you for your continuing support as we have worked together to build the strongest Democratic ticket possible. Since April, tens of thousands of Vote Both supporters have petitioned, called, and written letters to the Obama campaign. And Senator Obama heard your enthusiasm and arguments for Senator Clinton and her leadership.

Because of your work, Senator Obama asked Hillary to be his keynote speaker at the Democratic National Convention! We hope you are as pleased as we are that he has tapped Senator Clinton to deliver one of the most important messages of that crucial week—the very role that Barack Obama had four years ago.

Regretfully, this means that Senator Hillary Clinton is no longer under consideration as Senator Obama’s running mate.

While we all were working toward a different result, ultimately we and Barack Obama are working for the same eventual outcome—getting ready to take back the White House and bring our country the change Americans deserve and so desperately need. There is nothing more important than that.

Because it seems that Senator Obama has made his decision to offer the slot on the ticket to another candidate, we believe that continuing to ask him to pick Hillary is no longer helpful to our party’s chances of winning in November.

We worked for Hillary for a combined ten years, so we know how many of you may be feeling. And to those who are hesitant to support Obama right now, we urge you to keep giving him the chance to earn your vote. We are confident he will.

Because, when it comes down to it, even the most ardent Hillary-supporter must ask himself or herself, “Do I want John McCain sending our soldiers off to more wars, giving Big Oil free rein to gouge us at the pump, and letting ideology overrule decisions that should be made on the basis of science and health?”

No. Never.

As Hillary said, “The way to continue our fight now - to accomplish the goals for which we stand - is to take our energy, our passion, our strength and do all we can to help elect Barack Obama the next President of the United States.”

We accept that charge and will do everything we can to help him win. We hope you will continue to fight with us to put our country back on track.

Nancy Pelosi Should Resign Immediately

jesus must really be up to something because I can't sleep. nancy pelosi is using her thwart power to halt the impeachment proceedings. america can you feel the deception in the air. the only results that I can gauge are when I immerse myself in worship. this I believe is the only thing that we have left. of course that statement of truth applies to the people that can relate to my words. how does it feel to be living in 2008 without a earthly role model or leader. no one seems to be relevant to kingdom business. and i am a very joyful person. no reason for me to pretend. I would love to witness a good ole fashioned revolution. i am up for it. this stagnation is very predictable.

My Conversation with the Eternal

Albert: Jesus, I am beginning to see why they call you the Alpha and Omega. And when I think about the complexity of this life, I am satisfied that you are truly the expert of chaos.

Jesus: My hands are stretched out for you, come closer, Albert. I want you to want me. Do you want me, Albert?

Albert: Yes, Jesus. But not in the way that I thought I would. Today, I draw close to you out of anxiety and fear and anger and disappointment rather than worship. For some reason, my motives don't seem pure enough to approach you and yet I am here. However, I admit, that since I began this dialogue, I am starting to feel a lot better.

Jesus: What is upsetting you, Albert?

Albert: Why are you letting the media lie to us about the state of affairs in America and abroad? I don't believe them nor what I am hearing, do you?

Jesus: "They" don't believe me, either. Do you believe in me, Albert?

Albert: Sometimes I feel that I don't have a choice. You don't make it easy, you know? Up to this point, you feel distant and very mystery. If I dig deep inside of me, I would say that I do believe in you. I just did a google search on your name and you are still #1. For some strange reason, this inquiry encouraged me.

Jesus: Should I say 'thank you' or that this was orchestrated by my Spirit?

Albert: I really want to say 'thank you' to you. You are perfect and you do what you do by any means necessary!

Jesus: Remember this Albert, that in this life, this world has no capacity to love you. I am not of this world and neither are you. Albert, you have been bought with a price. My precious blood. I am the real deal. You have not met many real people in your life. Know this, Albert...I am the One. Would you believe me now, my friend?

Albert: Yes, my love. The way that you talk to me makes me want to cry. Nobody talks like you do. I feel your presence and know by the Spirit that you are real. I already feel 100% better. Thank you.

Jesus: You are welcome, my son! What about the other people in this world? Don't you think it is only fair for them to feel this freedom and liberty just like you? Are you concerned?

Albert: Jesus, you know the answer.

Jesus: Yes, I do. I am the originator of really loving people unconditionally. I feel you struggling with being able to do this on your own. Stop struggling and yield to me. Let me be your leader and accept my outstretched hand.

Statement Released from David Banner's Camp:

David Banner is very passionate about the subject of Hip Hop and the state of the African American community. The comments released in the media were not from a formal interview they were from a conversation on a DJ conference call. The manner in which it was delivered was not how he would respond in an interview. Below is a letter that was previously written; the comments in the media were released prior to this letter being exposed. Banner’s true feelings and points that he desires to get across can be found in the letter.

Wrote A Letter To The Government The Other Day! Stop Attacking The Kids

To all the black ?so called leaders?. Al, Oprah, Jesse, etc, etc, etc? I?m saddened by your current direction and current “pet projects” you guys have taken under your wing at the expense of Young Black America. As an urban professional living in this crazy world, I dare ask, who are you leading? I listen to what you say, I hear you complain about the youth, and about the direction of our lives, the kids, and where Black America is going and yet I still ask? who are you guys leading? And most importantly, where are we going? Do we know the goal we are trying to reach before we get there? Have we identified our end before articulating our means to an end! Who are you REALLY reaching? Why do you feel the need to attack the young generation for the things we are doing? "WHO DID WE LEARN THESE THINGS FROM? We are trying to have fun in the midst of our traumatic circumstances. People are trying to make a living by any means necessary, people are voicing their experiences, people are speaking the truth about situations and honestly the truth hurts and sometimes it’s ugly. If music/hip hop/ rappers are wrong with the language they use, the images they portray in their videos? then come talk to us ? I use the term “us” as a collective because I’m defending what I have a passion for so this also involves me. Pull us to the side and say “hey kids, that’s not the way to go” and then we can say “change what we see daily so we can sing and rap about the roses and not about the bullets”. We will say, help give us better situations to create better verbal material?. Don’t just go running off to the media to air the dirty laundry of the family and not expect us to fight back in some kind of way. What you are doing is wrong and it’s pissing off a lot of people with less money and camera time! Young Black America’s problem is not Hip Hop or the music, Young Black America’s problem is Old White America. In the young black community, there is a growing level of resentment toward the “so called leaders” because you guys DON?T WANT TO REALLY FIX OUR PROBLEMS. You guys don’t really want to be on our side fighting for better school systems, more after school programs, more money for college funding! Where are you leaders at when there’s a need to break down to freshman in college on how not to get caught up with credit cards by singing up for an MBNA card, with high interest rates that eventually screw up your credit and makes it that much harder for you to become a homeowner after you graduate college pending you can find a job in your field after you’ve spent all this money in student loans! Where are those seminars? Dubois had it right when he spoke of the Talented Tenth! Rally around us to help teach us about THIS life! It’s not our fault that the world is messed up and filled with debauchery.

It’s not our fault that our communities are screwed! The problems in our community should not fall on our lap. And if you begin to hold us accountable for simply our words then I will begin to hold you accountable for your actions; or lack there of. Right is right and wrong is wrong. You as our leaders should have taken a better approach to gaining the attention of those that you are dissatisfied with and had a conversation with them. You don’t scold your child in public without fair warning!

Al Sharpton: You run around towns and cities speaking Words of wanting to better our community by cleaning up the airwaves. You hold rallies in front of radio stations saying turn off the music and clean the airwaves. You want to shut down local stations that are playing urban music when most of these local stations house and employ the same people in your community? The black community. When you visit any station in any city (big or small) playing urban/rap music, the staff is generally black. Now if those stations were to ever shutdown, where do those employees go? Al, if you are for the people, where was your rally when the 3 college students were executed in New Jersey by black men. Where is the rally at for those families and that neighborhood??? I don’t see you out there asking for justice yet that incident happened in a black community. If someone was to rap about how f**** up black on black crime is and how even if you go to college you aren’t safe on the streets and “niggas aint s---“ that kind of tone is offensive to you and you want to stop that! If that’s the truth, then why are you censoring it? No, you need to stop the crime before it happens so that there is no gangster song about a gangster situation.

Oprah: You recently you held a town hall meeting dedicating 2 days of talk to have an open forum about the “Nappy Headed Ho” comment from Imus. Everyone had their 2cents to say and yet the people that needed to REALLY be there were not at all on your panel of “experts”. The questions all were about? why use the word ho or b**** or nigga etc? yet the rappers in question ala Nelly, Snoop, Ludacris weren’t anywhere present on your panel. In my eyes you had all the wrong people on there representing and speaking on behalf of other people. Common is great but he’s not gangsta. If you had a problem with the true content of rap songs then where were those that do that kind of rap 100%? You want to talk about change, and about having us not call women in rap songs “bitches” and “hoes” but one thing I noted, you had all men on your panel of executives. Russell is wonderful but he’s not the Zenith when it comes to new school rappers or their new school mentality. Kevin Liles is great but what happened to Sylvia Rhone the head of the label that Nelly is signed to, or Kathy Hughes the head of Radio One or Deborah Lee the head of BET. If the problem really was about women and the “bitch, ho” term being used, where were those ladies to speak on their stance on this issue! They are the ones with the ultimate say pulling all the strings and yet they weren’t dully noted as absent from your panel! Oprah you are suppose to protect us, I can find more harm being done to the black community by the movies and sponsors you promote than any rap song.

Just like your son or daughter, niece or nephew, rappers are just kids growing into their own. They aren’t always right, but they aren’t always wrong either. If our path is misguided, then help us get back on the right road. I’m young, I’m black, and I’m a hard worker. I’m from the hood where mother’s leave their kids in the hands of strangers and never look back, I’ve been with killers, dope dealers, b******, , church folk, grandparents, bad parenting from good parents, pushers, junkies, robbers, middleclass workers, but that’s the life I’ve been around. Gunshots and church hymns usually go hand in hand in most neighborhoods. The grim reality for a lot of kids out there living alone is that life is harsh and cold; kids grow up faster than they want to because they are forced too! Kids are growing up in situations that are f***** up. So the songs we listen to mirror the things we see, the things we dream about and the fantasies we have! Don’t change the songs I listen to, change the circumstance from which it comes from---then the situation will be better!

Growing up in this world of hip hop it’s disheartening to see our “so called leaders” leave us out to dry. Fine you don’t like what we say. Fine disagree with our choice of topics; however, the things we talk about aren’t new. We didn’t invent the term pimps, pushers, hoes, tricks, doobies, nigga’s and gangsta’s. Hip Hop didn’t create that. Those words were left here for us to use by you guys, your generation. This life we are continuing to live was handed to us by the people before us who didn’t do much to clean it up. There may

Never be a time that we agree on anything, but there is always room for change. As a family we will agree to disagree but it’s the synergy in which we do it. If you are on one extreme tangent, and I’m on another, we will never meet eye to eye. At the same time, I will not allow you to bash, yell, condemn, and have a condescending tone on my source of refugee and happiness. As you leaders call out the hip hop community saying that we are wrong for what we do and how we do it, I am CALLING EACH OF YOU OUT saying you are wrong for what you are doing to us. How dare you guys not call Nelly, Snoop, Lil Wayne, David Banner, Jim Jones, Akon, Rick Ross, Fabulous, 50 cent, Young Buck, Bun B, Too Short and say lets talk this through.

Do you even know who ANY of these people are??????? You are so disconnected from us that we don’t even look at you for guidance. If you really want to change something, start by changing your dialogue. Don’talk at us, talk to us!

AMA apologizes to black doctors for racism

By LINDSEY TANNER, AP Medical Writer

The American Medical Association on Thursday issued a formal apology for more than a century of discriminatory policies that excluded blacks from participating in a group long considered the voice of U.S. doctors.

The apology stems from initiatives at the nation's largest doctors' group to reduce racial disparities in medicine — from the paltry number of black physicians to the disproportionate burden of disease among blacks and other minorities.

It comes more than 40 years after AMA delegates denounced policies at state and local medical societies dating to the 1800s that barred blacks. For decades, AMA delegates resisted efforts to get them to speak out forcefully against discrimination or to condemn the smaller medical groups that historically have had a big role in shaping AMA policy.

The apology might seem belated, but it isn't the AMA's first for its discriminatory history. Dr. John Nelson, then AMA's president, offered a similar apology at a 2005 meeting on improving health care and eliminating disparities, sponsored by the government's Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality.

That came a year after the AMA joined the National Medical Association, a black doctors' group, and other minority doctors' groups in forming the Commission to End Health Care Disparities.

The commission has been working on raising awareness of health disparities, including disproportionate rates of many diseases among blacks and other minorities.

The new apology is a more formal acknowledgment of the AMA's embarrassing past, and is also part of the AMA's efforts to improve an image that in recent years has lost its luster. In many circles, the AMA is seen as a stodgy trade group focused on doctors' rather than patients' best interests.

Many black physicians applauded the AMA's move.

"It is true that what the AMA did historically was awful," said Dr. Otis Brawley, the American Cancer Society's chief medical officer. "There were AMA local chapters that actually had rules against black members well into the late 1960s, and policies that made blacks not feel comfortable well into the 1980s."

Brawley, who is black, said he's never been an AMA member, but that the apology "certainly makes me much more interested in working with them."

Dr. Nelson Adams, president of the National Medical Association, said the apology is courageous and "extremely important."

AMA's discriminatory actions hurt black doctors and kept many from working and caring for patients, Adams said. That's because in many places doctors couldn't work in hospitals unless they were members of local medical societies, he said.

He said there's evidence that black patients fare better when treated by black doctors, so these policies could have contributed to poor health care for blacks.

While blacks represent roughly 13 percent of the U.S. population, less than 3 percent of the nation's 1 million doctors and medical students are black, Adams noted.

And according to 2006 data on AMA's Web site, less than 2 percent of AMA members and voting delegates are black.

"We've got a lot of work to do," Adams said.

Dr. Monica Peek, a Chicago internist and member of the AMA and National Medical Association, said the apology "creates an open and healthy dialogue for addressing these issues" that black doctors have long been aware of.

But she said AMA's actions don't lessen the need for a separate group representing black doctors.

Addressing health disparities hasn't always been a part of AMA's mission "but it's something that has never been off of NMA's radar," Peek said.

Confessions of Political Semen

I am a very attractive woman. However, I feel incomplete because I want to conceive with the right man. I am a very wealthy woman. The tentacles of romance encompass me but leave me hungry and dry for a salve that can endure. I want to feel moist and free and told that I am sweet. I want to grasp and control the flow of an attractive stranger who allows me to hold his jewels.

Are there any women listening who would give all of their earthly possessions to finally become pregnant without losing to the curse of miscarriage. No more imagining, but rather seeing the bright lights of the delivery room and hearing the doctor say push.

The only man that you ever accepted inside of you to abide in you holding your hand as you squeeze from the pain.

I have the key to the open door. I know how a true leader could be raised up if he so chooses to be controversial. Yes, indeed, even "How to Start a Revolution".

Find a man. A brilliant specimen. A brute form. A gentle Lion. A test tube miracle angel. No, I will not compromise for a drone. I have to feel the warmth of 98.6 fahrenheit drip in between my thighs and in my walls. Now, I command you to release your yadda, your spirit, your soul within my insecure corpus.

Agreed. Your conditions will be met. You want to abolish the U.S. Government. You want to block the upcoming 2008 presidential elections because they have been manipulated.

You have a record of producing beautiful children. Healthy. Flawless. Endowed with supernatural intelligence. Full of agape love. A bulletproof agenda for the nations. An itinerary that will not cancel.

If you want to become pregnant from an attractive man. Do not vote. Call on me and I will answer you. I will not leave you or forsake you. No sex allowed. But I will freely give my political semen unto you. At no cost. Freely I give my blood, sweat and tears.

Promise that you will not support the mainstream media lie.

I will reward you for your faithfulness. The loss of Hillary. Broken Dreams. We mourn the death of Ron Paul's campaign manager.

Truth has not fallen in the streets. The Supreme Court handed down the heart beat of the second amendment. Annie get your gun!

Do not deny me love tonight in bed. Turn toward the heat. Kiss your companion. Are you sleeping with the Enemy of State? Or are you resting under the shadow?

You have reached the 700 club which is no longer a working number. Pat Robertson supported Giuliani, no way!

Planned Parenthood does not operate unless the crayon is red like crimson. The scalpel that is. Blue blood will be turned away.

History records that Martin Luther King was in love with a white woman. She severed the relationship for fear of the masses.

Ah, hell...I am stirring it up now. Gotta catch my Citation X!

White House apologizes for 'insulting' biography

Sorry about that, Silvio.

An embarrassed White House apologized on Tuesday for an "unfortunate mistake" — the distribution of less-than-flattering biography of Italian Premier Silvio Berlusconi at the Group of Eight summit. Still, the gaffe led to headlines in Italy.

The summary of Berlusconi was buried in a nearly inch-thick tome of background that the White House distributed at the summit of major economic powers. The press kit was handed out to the White House traveling press corps.

The biography described Berlusconi as one of the "most controversial leaders in the history of a country known for government corruption and vice."

It was just last month that Berlusconi welcomed Bush to Rome, calling him "a personal friend of mine and also a great friend of Italy." And Bush responded then: "You're right. We're good friends."

The biography, written by Encyclopedia of World Biography, said Berlusconi burst onto the political scene with no experience and used his "vast network of media holdings" to finance his campaign on a promise to "purge the notoriously lackadaisical Italian government of corruption."

The biography went on to say that Berlusconi was appointed to the prime minister's office in 1994, "however, he and his fellow Forza Italia Party leaders soon found themselves accused of the very corruption he had vowed to eradicate."

In a written apology, White House spokesman Tony Fratto said the biography used insulting language.

"The sentiments expressed in the biography do not represent the views of President Bush, the American government, or the American people," he said. "We apologize to Italy and to the prime minister for this very unfortunate mistake."

Corriere della Sera, a leading Italian daily and one of several newspapers featuring the case on its front page, said: "US gaffe, then the apology."

Petition to boycott McDonald's, supporter of homosexual marriage

McDonald's chooses to support homosexual marriage

American Family Association (AFA) is boycotting McDonald’s restaurants because of the company’s promotion of the homosexual agenda, including homosexual marriage. AFA asked McDonald’s to remain neutral in the culture war. McDonald’s refused.
This boycott is not about hiring homosexuals, or eating at McDonald’s, or how homosexual employees are treated. It is about McDonald’s, as a corporation, refusing to remain neutral in the culture wars and giving the full weight of their corporation to promoting the homosexual agenda.
McDonald’s donated $20,000 to the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce in exchange for membership in the NGLCC and a seat on the group’s board of directors. The NGLCC lobbies Congress in support of homosexual marriage. Richard Ellis, VP of Communications for McDonald’s, and an open homosexual, was given the seat on the NGLCC Board. Ellis said he was “thrilled to join the NGLCC and ready to go to work.”
McDonald’s CEO Jim Skinner said the company will aggressively promote the issues they approve. “Being a socially responsible organization is a fundamental part of who we are. We have an obligation to use our size and resources to make a difference in the world … and we do.”
Yes, I’m supporting the boycott of McDonald’s until McDonald’s stops supporting groups that promote homosexual marriage.
